National Parks Week April 17-25 - Free Admission to National Parks
Last week while we were visiting my sister my husband and I took a side trip one day to the birthplace and home of FDR in Hyde Park, NY. We enjoyed the tour very much and also looking in the Presidential Library. FDR's home and the Vanderbilt Estate which is just done the road are part of the National Park Service.
For a week starting Saturday the National Park Service is waiving entrance fees to all 392 parks. If you have a chance this is a great chance to visit one of our National Parks for free. If you happen to be in New York you can see two great estates that are 2 miles apart for free.
The National Park Service encourages walking and hiking for fitness during National Park Week, April 17-25. Not only can you see some great parks and landmarks but many parks also have special fitness activities taking place during this week. Pick a park near you and go enjoy some family fun for free.
