Dreamfields Pasta Review

Since I have been trying to eat healthier I am always on the lookout for products that taste great and are good for you.  We love pasta in this house and I am always looking for healthy choices my kids will eat.  I was thrilled when  I was offered the chance to try Dreamfields Pasta.  They sent is the Penna pasta which was wonderful and even the kids enjoyed eating it.

Dreamfields has the same amount of fiber as whole wheat pasta but with a great taste. Since it has A very low glycemic index of 13  that means you may see a lower rise in your blood glucose after eating Dreamfields as compared to traditional white pasta which makes it a good choice for diabetics.  It also only has 5 grams of digestible carbs which makes it ideal for those who are trying to keep control of carbs in their diet.

Now is a great time to try Dreamfields pasta for yourself.  You can go here and print off a coupon for $1 off a box.  If you can't find it at a store near you it is also available on Amazon.

Because of my lack of energy to do much I have several  past due posts  to try to get out tomorrow.  A couple our great products that will help you in working on eating more healthy as well as a few giveaways.

Be Still My Soul

After 2 weeks of being run down by not feeling well,  numerous doctors appointments and still no real idea of what is going on with my body I was feeling rather down and out.  I decided I would do what relaxes me the most and read my Bible while taking a nice hot bath.  Instead of reading though I started singing a song.  I sang to God and pleaded with him to calm my soul.   I sang the song Be Still My Soul  which happens to be one of my favorites.  I reminded my self that I just need to turn it over to God and he will see me through.

Be still, my soul: the Lord is on thy side.
Bear patiently the cross of grief or pain.
Leave to thy God to order and provide;
In every change, He faithful will remain.

Be still, my soul: thy best, thy heavenly Friend
Through thorny ways leads to a joyful end.

Be still, my soul: thy God doth undertake
To guide the future, as He has the past.
Thy hope, thy confidence let nothing shake;
All now mysterious shall be bright at last.

Be still, my soul: the waves and winds still know
His voice Who ruled them while He dwelt below.

Be still, my soul: the hour is hastening on
When we shall be forever with the Lord.
When disappointment, grief and fear are gone,
Sorrow forgot, love’s purest joys restored.

Be still, my soul: when change and tears are past
All safe and bless├Ęd we shall meet at last.

Here is a version of the song done by Selah.  It is a bit different form the original but still very beautiful.  What peace it is to know that we have a God who is faithful.

Total Tea Basket Tea Infuser -Review and Giveaway

I am usually the person who always makes my tea  in a teapot.  Copco recently introduced me to their Total Tea line of tea products.  They sent me this Basket tea infuser to try out.  I am always interested in new tea products so I agreed.  Well since the first time I have tried it I have not used my teapot once when making tea for just myself.  I am hooked,  I love this product.  It is perfect for brewing yourself a cup of loose tea.  The stainless steel steeping basket has a silicone lid that rests on your cup to keep your tea warm while steeping.  When you are done steeping just flip the lid over to collect the excess water and keep your counter dry and clean.

Copco's  Total Tea products are found at many major retailers including Target.  This Basket Tea Infuser retails for $7.99.  You can find a list of retailers here.

In celebration of National Hot Tea Month Copco has been kind enough to give one of my readers this Basket tea Infuser as well.  To enter visit the Total Tea products and come back here and leave a comment on which one you like best.

For Your Health Friday- General Mills

Recently General Mills announced a commitment to further reduce sugar in cereals advertised to kids under 12 to single digit grams of sugar per serving. The company has already been reducing sugar in cereals while increasing key nutrients, such as calcium and vitamin D, and providing whole grain.  My kids love to eat cereal and it is always good to know that it is a healthy option for them.

Did you know that ready-to-eat cereal eaters consume less fat, less cholesterol and more fiber than non-cereal eaters? Cereals also deliver important vitamins, minerals and other essential nutrients, making cereal a top source of key nutrients in children’s diets.

Other cereal benefits:
  • Ready-to-eat cereals, including presweetened cereals, account for only 5% of sugar in children’s diets.
  • Ready-to-eat cereal is the No. 1 source of whole grains in a child’s diet today.
  • More frequent cereal eaters tend to have healthier body weights and lower Body Mass Index measures.
Studies also demonstrate the benefits of eating breakfast. A 1998 study showed that children who eat breakfast tend to perform better at school. Compared to children who skip breakfast, children who eat breakfast score higher on tests, are less likely to miss class or be tardy, have fewer reported discipline problems, and make fewer trips to the office.

For more information about kids and cereals, please visit Cereal Health and Wellness.

You can also go here to get a $1 off coupon for General Mills Cereal

I was given this information and coupons to try General Mills cereal from General Mills and MyBlogSPark

2 Years of Tea and Friendship

On January 1st I celebrated 2 years of blogging.  My the content of my blog has changed  a bit over the past two years.  What has not changed is my love for tea and my love to use tea to connect with others.  I started this blog as a suggestion form my husband to try to make a few extra bucks since I do not work outside the home.  Well I have not made much money but have been blessed with so much more.  I have gotten to know many other moms that have taught me many things and formed some wonderful friendships.  The products I can try and the little bit of money I may make can in no way compare to the many people that I would love to be able to sit down with and share our lives over a cup of tea.

The teapot by the way was a Christmas present from my parents.  My mom said when she saw it she immediately thought of me.  I love it and can't wait until I can share a cup of tea from this pot.  Maybe even one day it will be with one of the wonderful women who have entered my life because of this blog.
