Kroger Family of Stores' Pound for Pound Challenge and Giveaway

If you are like me you may want to lose a couple of extra pounds this summer. The cool thing is that losing some of the extra pounds could also help feed America.  There is not much time left to do it but in the next 2 weeks you can pledge the pounds you would like to lose and 14 cents will be donated for every pound you lose.

The Kroger Co. Family of Stores, General Mills, NBC's hit TV Show “The Biggest Loser” and other key sponsors are partnering to donate up to $1,080,000 to Feeding America this year.

Be sure to visit to make your pledge to lose weight and to get more information and to find tools to change your life for the better. It is free, easy and only takes a minute to make a change that can help you and help the hungry in your local community.

Through June 30, 2010, for every pound you pledge to lose, the Pound For Pound Challenge will donate 14¢ to Feeding America — enough to deliver one pound of groceries to a local food bank.
As the official supplier of the Biggest Loser Ranch and partner of the Pound for Pound Challenge, the Kroger Family of Stores wants to help you achieve your goals. If you’re a fan of the Biggest Loser, you may have seen several great General Mills products featured on the show. These products, including Yoplait Greek yogurt, Total, and Multigrain Cheerios, are available at your local Kroger Family of Stores and can help you stick to your weight management plan.

To help you purchase some of those great General Mills product  MyBlogSpark has provided me with 2 $30  Kroger Family of Stores gift cards to giveaway.  To enter leave me a comment on this blog telling how much weight you are pledging to lose before the end of the month.

Noodles & Company

Looking for a new idea to get your kids to eat more vegetables when eating out?  If you are like me you wish they order more than chicken fingers  or burgers and fries. Have you tried Noodles & Company. Recently my family and I went for a dinner out at our local Noodles & Company to try the new limited time offer asparagus bowl called “Lemon  and Asparagus Linguine”. This yummy dish is  made with fresh basil, mushrooms, onions, feta cheese and snap peas.  It is being  offered in restaurants nation-wide through the end of June.

My kids love asparagus but they were not sure they wanted to try this dish but both  tasted it and really liked it.  They decided the next time we go back they want to try asparagus in their favorite dishes. You can add it to any dish for only $1.25  As a matter of fact they keep asking me when we can go back again.  I really enjoyed the Asparagus and Lemon Linguine a whole lot and would love to go back before the end of June to have this dish again. I am sure that will please my kids.

I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour campaign by Mom Central on behalf of Noodles & Company and received five Noodles & Company bowl cards to facilitate my review. Mom Central also sent me a thank-you gift certificate.

Baton Recital

Tonight was my daughter's first baton recital.  She did very well for her first time.  We were very proud of her and she was very suprised to learn she got first place in her age division.  You can see her with her medal in the 2nd picture.  Who knows maybe one day she will be a Majorette!

Simply GoGurt Prize Pack Giveaway

A few weeks ago I had a coupon link for a free Simply Go-Gurt coupon.  I had hoped to do a giveaway shortly after but life got very busy and then I my computer died.  I know it is late but I still want to share with you how much we are loving Simply Go-Gurt in my house.

New Simply... Go-Gurt is made from simple ingredients moms look for and contains no high fructose corn syrup or artificial colors or flavors. Each convenient portable yogurt tube contains a good source of calcium and vitamin D. Simply stated, Simply... Go-Gurt is a good-for-you, low fat yogurt snack that you can feel good about giving to your kids.   My kids cannot tell the difference and I love the fact that it has no high fructose corn syrup.

New Simply... Go-Gurt is available in two kid-friendly flavors, Strawberry and Mixed Berry. Both taste great.  I love to freeze them and put them in my kids lunches.  By the time lunch comes around they are ready to eat.

I have a "Simplify Your Life" prize pack to give away.  It includes a pocket Etch a Sketch, a weekly planner, a back seat organizer and a coupon for Simply Go-Gurt.

To enter leave a message telling me what wholesome snacks you like to give to your kids.  I am going to make this a short and simple giveaway since it is so late in getting to you.  This giveaway will  end next Monday, June 7th at 11:59pm.
